My elderly step-father is wasting away
He has lost 100lbs this last three years. Wish I could go to him and teach him how to smoke pot,but he would never go for it. I just know once he got high and the munchies, he would want more.

Of course, he's a conservative.

3. Has he been checked for cancer??
My dad did the same thing and even tho they said no cancer I do not belive them. He used to be very stocky, lots of muscle from working in a steel mill and the day he died his arms were smaller than my wrists.

Have him checked out PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

4. He's been tested for everything
cancer, Alzheimer's, etc. It was when he had the surgery to have his knee replaced that he started shutting down. They decided not to replace his other knee because that might kill him.

5. Brownies
When my dad was dying from cancer, our first priority was to get him eating because he had lost so much weight before the diagnosis. He was hospitalized to begin with and smoking was out of the question so I made him some special brownies. It worked. He started eating again and putting on weight. It may not have added much time but it made his time better.

6. There are medications that can help.
My mother was put on Megace when she was refusing to eat, and she gained 30 pounds, which was actually too much.
