Where do you shop for used cars online?

So I am possibly in the market for a pickup truck... I used to have an '01 Tacoma and I loved it (never should have sold that truck! *sob*). I am probably starting a new field project which will involve toting around wet and muddy traps, waders, nets, etc. So I'm looking for a truck -- the ideal would be a 96-01 Tacoma extracab, 4X4, 4cyl, manual transmission. Not that I've been thinking about this. ;-)

So I've been keeping an eye on Craigslist, and also AutoTrader. Any other good sites? Also, how many miles is too many??

We went to see this one, but the frame was all rusted :(





(Disclaimer... Sally should not be on DU or looking at trucks right now since she's defending her freakin' PhD thesis the day after tomorrow!!!!! :scared: Needed a distraction though!)

1. I start at Edmunds.com for researching different vehicles.

Yes, ebay motors.

I found a used volvo for my son on ebay motors. A local volvo dealer who had sold it originally got it in as a trade in and rather than wholesaling it they threw it on ebay. We got it for a wholesale price.

12. I'll second that
hubby got a great deal on his car from a dealer on ebay

it was worth the plane ticket to St Louis and the hotel stay to bring it home
