3. I wasn't gonna watch tonight but that might make it worthwhile...
I couldn't stand her. She was sooo full of herself and she was nothing great.

The show doesn't start here for another hour.
I usually just check online to see who wins. The results shows are too long.

4. I'm not watching. I have it on the station, but am sitting outside.
My husband called me in for that. He knew I'd appreciate it. It was worth watching!

5. I've done that occasionally.
I'll watch through the patio door to see who wins. Probably not tonight though. Too much to do.

Lots of big-name guest singers. I won't spoil it though.

7. Kara showed her how to sing at least
Edited on Wed May-20-09 08:12 PM by blue_onyx
Ryan...who are you kidding? I think he would've been happier if Adam walked out in a bikini.

BTW, she's not really all that attractive.

8. Kinda skanky IMO. I mean the fake tan, fake boobs, and the
attitude make her UGLY!! I can handle a nice tan and nice boobs, but the attitude is GROSS.

9. Yep
When I judge attractiveness, I look at the face and personality. She has no personality and her face is average.

13. Of course, but I think her attitude was real! At leat partially.
And it was hilarious. I love Queen. But without Freddie, they really aren't Queen.

17. I would agree on that
Queen without Freddie Mercury really isn't Queen. They still might be good and still might play the same songs, but it's not the same.

22. AMEN SISTER!!!
Freddie Mercury IS Queen - he gave them their sound and stage presence. Sure Brian May and Roger Taylor were intergral parts of the band with May's great guitar work and excellent songs written by both (and they even sung some of their songs like '39 by May and I'm in Love with My Car by Taylor)

25. Freddie wasn't necessarily the best vocalist but his Charisma was off the charts
Personally I preferred Brian May's voice over Freddie's but if you ever watch any of their live DVDs you can see what a stage presence that Mercury has. I have the Live Aid DVD and Queen's performance there was legendary only because Freddie OWNED every single person inside of Wembley stadium and that's alot of people. I mean I'm watching him 25 years later on DVD and even I was mesmerized by his performance (and mentally kicking myself in the ass because I never saw him live in concert).

I think this is one of the reasons why I am so impressed with Green Day because Armstrong has alot of the same mannerisms of Freddie Mercury (I've always said if Charlie Chaplin and Freddie Mercury had a love child it would be Billie Joe Armstrong). Some of the most legendary bands in our lifetime have been successful because of a charismatic lead singer.

I know that 'Queen' is touring with Paul Rodgers, who is a very talented singer (probably a better voice than Freddie Mercury) but he doesn't have that charisma that Mercury had and I just don't feel like wasting money on a Queen tour without Freddie.

Ironically I think Robert Plant has plenty of that charisma too but I'll see Led Zeppelin without him because Jimmy Page also had it too.

And I love Green Day too! I can take or leave Led Zeppelin :hide:

He wouldn't have any trouble singing Queen at all.....and he already has the fingernails...:)

Queen and Paul Rogers went their separate ways...

19. Her and the hottie judge

"American Idol" judge Kara DioGuardi (L) undoes her dress as she performs with Idol contestant Katrina Darrell, who auditioned in a bikini and won a Golden Idol award for best attitude, during the finale of Season 8 of "American Idol" in Los Angeles May 20, 2009.

24. mostly joking
she isn't Skellator skinny, but a screen-shot capture doesn't always show a performer to advantage.

Katrina, OTOH, looks spa-manufactured.

29. I viewed it differently
I thought it kind of showed good humor on bikini girl's part, and it was obviously staged. She participated in her own pwning. It was really funny!

Hasn't changed since she was on the show the first time.

32. She truly isn't someone I would want to go to lunch with
but, it was all staged. She knew what was going to happen, and she went along with it, and I thought that showed good humor. But, she might have been driven by a need to be seen once more. And after seeing her last night, man, she couldnt sing worth a crap !
