Johnny Carson's next-to-last Tonight Show aired 17 years ago, 5/21/92...
The "final" 5/22/92 show, as fans will remember, was solo Johnny. The last show with guests...Robin Williams & Bette Midler...aired 17 years ago, 5/21/92.

Happy Anniversary, Johnny.

1. I still miss Johnny Carson
and pretty much stopped watching late nite shows after he retired.

Carson was the gold standard and no one will ever touch him.

2. I just finished re-watching the 3 DVD set:
...and it's all still as fresh and funny as when it was originally performed.

3. I miss him too. I feel like ! grew up with him. My parents
were huge fans and when I was old enough to stay up that late, I started watching too.

RIP Johnny and thanks for all the laughs.

4. Thanks for all the laughs, Johnny.
Johnny: "It was hot today in Los Angeles."

Audience: "How hot was it?"

Johnny: "It was so hot that the sprinklers were on
at Forest Lawn and it was the grounds keeper's day off."

8. I've seen the ending of a lot of hit shows in my time.
But the end of Johnny Carson's reign on late-night TV really hit me the hardest.
