Question for y'all. I'm meeting a former coworker for lunch today at Sizzler.
The question is this: Should I get the stomach pump ready NOW, or just wait for the food poisoning yet to come?

1. EEK -- there's better quality beef in dog food!
May God walk with you, my child.

2. That's why I usually get the salad bar or Malibu Chicken.
Which isn't from Malibu, by the way. I know. I live 30 miles from Malibu, and they don't claim to have invented the stuff.

3. Do they have chickens in Malibu?
Little Rolex-wearing ones?

4. I call them cocks, but yes.
And they usually drive convertibles way too fast on Pacific Coast Highway.

5. Malibu chicken is cooked on the running engine of a Chevrolet.

I remember on the show "Wings" that obnoxious guy had one of those and was cooking food with it.

10. The Lamborghini Chicken is far preferable.
Tough to come by, though.

7. Really? Sizzler? I had no idea they still existed...
I thought they went kaput in the 80's...

8. Well, we used to have 5 in my county and are now down to 1.
But that's one too many in my book. It was my friend's choice where to eat.

12. I remember seeing the ads on TV when I was a little kid....
and the food looked good, so Mom and Dad lugged my sister and I there once. And that is my entire experience with Sizzler. The handfull of locations just simply vanished.

13. No great loss, really.
Although their cheese toast is actually somewhat tasty, if way oversalted.

16. I think people here lump them together with other chains...
like Red Lobster, TGIFridays, and others. They've tried to make it here, but they just can't. There are WAY too many good restaurants to compete with.

17. Actually, I think that's The Waffle House.
Though admittedly, Sizzler isn't too far behind.

18. Yeah, there's one by us...always has a bunch of cars, too
The Olive Garden is also always packed, despite the large # of good, cheaper Italian restaurants around here.

19. It's like people don't understand that if you go to places like that, you only encourage them.
 Places like that thrive, yet all the good local independent restaurants can't seem to keep their doors open.

20. The local places (at least the good ones) do well here
But in smaller towns, I'm sure it's more difficult.

It's the chains that struggle. People in Louisiana do NOT tolerate mediocre food very well. Idiot politicians (eg- Jindal, Vitter, etc...) are another story....
