That new Terminator movie (spoilers)
It was 'EH'

I wish they spent a little less time on the 'splosions and some more time on character development.

For instance

John Conner had a lot of scenes with a pregnant doctor who apparantly was his girlfriend. Not once did he mention that she was pregnant or it was his kid. I wasnt even sure if he realized she was pregnant or not.

The movie takes place before John Conner is the supreme leader of the resistance. He hasnt met Kyle Reese yet and the new T-800 Human looking terminators havent been manufactured yet. As far as I could tell there was no time travel yet by skynet. But for some reason Skynet knows who John Conner is and knows who Kyle Reese is and has them as the top two on their must kill list. In the scene where Marcus is talking to the skynet computer Helena Bonham Carter she says 'You've done what we havent been able to do for years. Kill John Conner' I mean he hadnt made it to the top of the resistance yet. Kyle Reese hasnt gone back in time to be his dad yet.

And when John Connor gets stabbed in the heart and gets a replacement they all just assume that Marcus Wrights heart will be compatible. Is it some home grown terminator human heart thats compatible with all blood types? WTF how do they know he wont reject it?

1. Time travel has no paradoxes
If the computers knew back in the 1980s that they needed to kill John Conner, it stands to reason they knew they would still remember that, even if the reason for killing him hasn't occurred yet.

2. There's some canonical indication that Terminator tissue is universally compatible
In the cancelled Sarah Connor Chronicles, the skeletonized "Cromartie" undergoes a process to grow himself a new skin-suit, which works just fine except for the eyes. No problem--he just grabs the peepers of the nearest person he can find, the doctor whom he'd forced to perform the procedure in the first place.

Cromartie's artificial flesh accepts the eyes without any mention of problems with rejection. Wikipedia also has some speculation about this in one of its Terminator entries.

4. Just saw it, actually. And I have one question:
Was that really 'Ahnold'? Isn't he busy trying to save the State of California from financial ruin? Guess I could google it, but I'm feeling lazy this afternoon.
