Meet Syzygy (Ziggy)

He even did this for me at the pet store too - that's one heck of a trusting bird

The flash woke him up :(

Scooter and Rusty reside in the same cage now...

That is how they actually sleep.

3. Many don't - not at first. For a parrot to be that trusting is a rare treat
Even Zoe would use at least one talon to cling...

Conures can be known for sleeping on their backs, but I've never seen any birds clinging on the side of their cages like Scooter and Rusty...

4. They will gawk, but they don't get jealous - at least vocally...
I gave up Piers and Piri (the parrotlets) because both Rusty and Scooter threw loud fits when I went to spend time with them, though I gave them up for other reasons too, it was the conures' loud protest that was the deciding factor.

Scooter loathes Syzygy. Syzygy will attack Rusty, despite being a year younger...

And for some reason, I'm not toying with the idea to call Syzygy "Roseanne". As in "Roseanne Conure" as in "Roseanne Connor" from the 1990s hit TV show "Roseanne"... that's closer to Rusty's personality...

6. Cuties!
You gave up parrotlets??!! Oh noes! I must have missed that. Don't mind me, but parrotlets are my absolute favorite, favorite, favorite kind of birds (as if you couldn't guess from my pic of Grace). I hope your ex-parrotlets have a nice new home.

8. They're my absolute favorite too...
Unfortunately, at the time, the two conures had loud screaming fits when I gave the parrotlets attention. Piers wasn't human-friendly (only just slightly opening up, but that was after 6 months) and Piri started developing bad behavioral problems as well. :( (She wouldn't eat any real food, only seeds. And never played with toys. Until I brought in Piers for her.)

Maybe it was breeding season, but she started feather plucking. Trying to console her, she would be territorial in her cage, but once let out she would be nice as pie (as usual).

She reminded me of me at times; no wonder I'll always be single. :spray:

I made sure they went to a good home.

Parrotlets are my absolute favorite species, but the behavior problems overwhelmed me, and then the conures got jealous too. I was expecting the same with Syzygy's arrival, but that was not the case. :wow: I told the pet specialist that if things didn't work, I'd return him and they have a 15 day policy... looks like Syzygy is a keeper.
