2fer, who KNEW?!1 H'wood producer molested Barbra. & Rita COSBY resurfaces!1
Really, all these years somebody's name appears on HUGH!1 movie screens as "PRODUCER" and the name appears to be a really classy brand, and it turns out to be a sleeze!1

Pre-Disclaimer Disclaimer: Usually I post only politically connected gossip tidbits in GD, first time only the gossip side at the Lounge. (What does this even MEAN?!1)

CASTING COUCH TURNDOWN

GITA Hall is one actress not surprised by our recent scoop that, according to a book proposal by Jon Peters (which he's since withdrawn), Barbra Streisand and Lesley Ann Warren were molested by sleazy producer Ray Stark. The former Miss Stockholm says when she landed a part in "The Gun Runners" with Audie Murphy, Stark, whose company was producing, called her to his office. "I naively thought he was going to wish me luck. Imagine my shock when he pulled down (his) zipper and said, 'You know what to do,' " Hall told Page Six. "I turned to walk out as he shouted, 'Don't you want the part?' I said, 'Not that much!' " After complaining to the director, "the filming went on and Stark was barred from the set. I escaped somewhat unscathed in comparison to Ms. Streisand and Ms. Warren, but the experience was nonetheless shocking," added Hall, who's penning a memoir titled, "I Was Always There."

MY DAD, A HERO

RITA Cosby (above) has another book in the works. The TV talker, who wrote the controversial "Blonde Ambition" on Anna Nicole Smith with Bruce Littlefield, is doing another project with him. It's based on Cosby's discovery that her father fought with the Polish resistance in World War II, and was captured and rescued as a POW by American soldiers. Littlefield said at Da Tommaso restaurant that Simon & Schuster's Threshold imprint has purchased the story.

THE PROBLEM WITH A DISCLAIMER is its coming off as defensive, especially when it's preemptive. Trouble is, it's damned if do/don't: NOT including it first results in the predictable problems.

DISCLAIMER re: linking to the NY Post (for to head-off highly predictable, OT/hijacking posts):: Yes, it is a RAG. Yes, it is owned by NewsCorp/Faux's MURDOCH. No, he doesn't Dictaphone content to his gossip columnists. No, "gossip" does NOT equate to "UNtruth" (OR with "triviality" for that matter). These old time gossipers are more journalistically reliable than Tweety and such ilk. Frequently, political tidbits are here first, later to show up in more "respectable" venues. Keep friends close, enemies closer. Cherrypicking intel results in self-fulfilling FALSENESS. I got hooked on these gossipers when they were on the
E!1 network and, when they were cancelled, tracked them down and they happened to be at THE RAG (NY Post). ALL I read at THE RAG are the gossip and the horoscope. On Edit: If this disclaimer is NOT ENOUGH, if you don't like this o.p., PLEASE just click OUT without leaving your any-further-a(doo-doo)!1

1. Steisand and Hall, at least, appear to have been in their mid-twenties when they first met Stark.
Is "molested" the right word?

2. Well, that word was in the original item, but I wondered that Barbar
was always SO powerful that I didn't think she was VULERNERABLE.
