1. It is better than Night at the Boreseum could ever hope to be
and it does have a good sense of humor too. I give it 5 out of 5 popcorns.

2. It IS better overall than the trailers I'd seen a few months earlier...
It's up to you. I've said my piece; it's a good generic action flick, not needing to use the name "Star Trek" as a crutch.

The Onion was right, but for the wrong reasons - anyone understanding Gene Roddenberry's vision will not like this movie. Mostly because it lacks it when it doesn't attack it. (the end scene was a real insult as far as I'm concerned.)

It's like putting pop stars into the rock and roll hall of fame. Different genres.

5. Hell Fuckin Yeah ! Leonard Nimoy is in it!
I was nervous about seeing it because I am a huge Star Trek fan and was worried about them fucking it up.My fears were assuaged after reading various articles and found out the Nimoy and the other original cast members were working closely with the new ones, Nimoy himself cried when he saw the new Kirk and McCoy acting together and the overall cast choices such as Simon Pegg as Scotty and John Cho as Sulu.
When I finally got to see it I was very much pleased. They kept true to the spirit of Star Trek and at the same time breathed new life into it

7. Finely crafted, big budget, shoot-em-up.
Just be ready to disengage your brain.
