Why does every vegetarian I know smell like patchouli?
Yeah, I know it's a stereotype. But it seems like every vegetarian in my world smells like pathcouli oil all the time. Why?

Is it just my misperceptions, or are all the veggies I know in some kind of strange Cult of the Carrot? (I realize not all vegetarians will smell like patchouli, but it's an awful big coincidence to me...)

2. In the case of Deadheads, it's to uh, cover up other smells.
That seems self-evident.

Or are you still trying to keep things on the down-low like the mormons do with their temple hokey-pokey?

16. If you moved here and agreed to give me neck and shoulder massages
in perpetuity, I would hand you the keys and the pink slip to the MidloVan.

THAT's how badly my neck is fucked. Seriously. Shoulders are like rock. Neck doesn't move normally. All from whiplash 25 years ago. You remember whiplash? How people said it didn't exist?

I'm living proof it does. And the treatment for it blows.

17. Yeah,I remember the whiplash thingy.
It must hurt like hell.My younger sister had an injury to the neck (the cervical vertebrae)

some years ago when she was a gymnast.:(

The only thing that helps is mostly massage but she now lives a long 9 hours drive from

here and I can't help her with my expert hands except when she's visiting us.

I guess there will be no MidloVan for me. :)

Where in CA do you live? If you live in Vancouver and can snag me a pic of Jared and Jensen, the stars of Supernatural, we will call it even.

I should probably ask yvr, too.

21. I have no idea. My sister has been a vegetarian since 1978 and has never smelled like patchouli.
Likewise, my mother, who was vegetarian for twenty years, never smelled like patchouli.

I can't think of anyone I know who smells like patchouli. :)

30. This is funny...or maybe not.
I'm a vegetarian, I wear patchouli. I never knew it was a known vegetarian fragrance.
A little preschool girl asked me this year,,"Miss K, what do you smell like?"
I replied, "What do you think I smell like?"
She got closer, sniffed, looked up at me with those sweet eyes, and answered, "Dirt?"

Gotta love kids!

peace~

My understanding is that the patchouli smell is a clever disguise that everyone knows about for marijuana smoke.

At the moment I probably smell like eau de activist or something because I was out at the marriage equality rally and it was hot, but I never, ever smell like patchouli. And I'm a third generation California native.
