Might as well say 'bye'; I just installed a Windows Service Pack without waiting for the fixes &
patches first. Previously, I would put it off for six months or a year, which worked well for me. I don't know what possessed me; momentary faith in Microsoft? So in case my Acer notebook becomes a stylin' paperweight in the near future, so long, take care of each other, eat your vegetables, and uh, don't install the Service Pack unless you see me still posting a week or so hence.:)

2. I call them "Windows Fudge Packs"
Most of them introduce more screw-ups than fixes.

3. It was a Windows Service Pack that caused me to buy
my first Mac. A pity that I never got a chance to thank them.

4. Just the sound of it is weird. Needing fixes and patches to a service pack.
What kind of upside down world does Microsoft live in?

5. Or, as Douglas Adams said about a fictitious megacorporation...
"their fundamental design flaws are completely hidden by their superficial design flaws." (Of course, it's possible the Sirius Cybernetics Corporation wasn't meant to represent Microsoft; it is, however, true that he used a Mac.)
