Who Gets Your Vote For Worst Fast Food? Examples?
Me? Taco Bell. One example: What the hell is a Mexican Pizza? Everytime I've gotten one of those things (yes, more than once; don't ask me why) they have failed to realize that if you don't pack it by itself and flat, it turns out looking like a pile of vomit.

What's yours?

I guess it's an acquired taste, but years ago when I still ate meat we stopped by WC (perhaps that's more fitting - Water Closet, not White Castle) and grabbed a few of their small burgers. Really, truly hideous.

63. I bought some of their frozen burgers and cooked them ( as directed )
they were as good as if I took off my sweaty sock, wiped my ass with it, and threw it in the oven. If the FRESH variety are a vast improvement, I feel really sorry for those people who think that is actually food!

6. Arby's. That "roast beef" is a fraud - it is like hot dog material
shaped into a loaf in a factory. The restaurants are noisey, dirty and staffed by idiots. I have eaten at an Arby's once in this millenium, and that was on time to many. I spent the entire time writing a complaint form to the management.

They make Taco Bell look authentic.

where real pieces of beef were slowly roasted for hours. I will still eat there once in a while but the beef loaf can't compare with the real old-school roast beef. Their fries and sauces are pretty decent.

It's in a strip mall on the corner of Lexington and Larpenteur. Best damn fast food roast beef sandwich in the known universe. It's what Arby's would be if Arby's were edible.

And the brisket sandwich also whips a boatload of llama's asses, too. :9

10. I think Burger King is the worst, but
Jack in the Box, Rally's, McDonalds, Arby's, and Carl's Jr. are all the pits. Wendy's has a few things I will eat, but their service is terrible. KFC does make good biscuits and Mac-N-Cheese, but their service is nonexistent. The best "fast food" is Togo's, but that's more like a deli than a fast food place - roughly equivalent to Subway, but better in quality. I know I will get slammed for saying this, but In-N-Out Burgers, which is supposedly the holy grail of hamburger chains, has dropped dramatically in quality control. The last 2 times we went there, the burger patties were dry and tough - no better than any other fast food chain. Rest in peace, In-N-Out.

I'm vegetarian, and those are the only places that offer me something other than a coke and fries. Taco Bell has several vegetarian options, Sonic has a few (though they all have cheese) plus Cherry Limeades, and BK has a veggie burger that I don't like but that will do in a pinch.

The rest are for meat eaters, unless you count Subway or pizza places.

Deep fried everything. They would probably deep fry a piece of lard if they could figure out how. They fry stuff at too low a temp, so it comes out dripping with grease. Grease which they probably have not changed in the last ten years or so.

I was dragged into one of these places, more or less against my will, by an acquaintance last week. I'll never eat with _that_ guy again. Truly disgusting.

My aunt took me there when I was little and I had a chicken taco. Sick as a dog for a short while thereafter. Not only have I never visited TB again, but I find myself generally put off by tacos. :P

I'm not really elitist on this subject, though. When the mood strikes me, I've no trouble with eating some fast food. Chick-Fil-A is one of my favorite places, in fact, even if it's owned by religious nuts.

You mention Chik-Fil-A...the first time I ate from there I found it odd ( maybe almost offensive ) that they put PICKLES on their chicken sandwiches...yes, this actually grossed me out! I like pickles, but I have NEVER had them on a chicken sandwich...never! ; this just threw me for a loop I guess

I've eaten at a couple of dozen different ones over the years. Not one served soggy bread.

They cook their bread fresh on the premises. It is their major selling point.

and since they offer a wide variety of sauces, which one in particular do you find bland?

66. I've never had a good experience @Subway
Worst meatball subs in existence, and even something as basic as tuna seems beyond their grasp. I found the bread mushy and bland, essentially a Wonder Bread roll, not real Italian bread.

New Hampshire has tons of locally owned sub shops (mostly owned by Greek immigrants or first generation families), and they are much, much better than Subway, Quiznos, or D'Angelos.

I can't think of any particular chain off the top of my head that I've been to and disliked. Maybe certain fast food restaraunts within a chain that were poorly maintained or had poor service, but not an actual chain.

I did have a White Castle hamburger and was not impressed--it was like a thin slice of roast beef on a biscuit. But I didn't actually go to White Castle, just had the pre-frozen ones.

It's always been fresh when I've been there. They also have delicious double chocolate chip cookies, though those aren't always fresh. I also like the selection of vegetable toppings, which also tend to be fresh. I usually get the turkey sub, which interestingly is the only sub not included when they have their deal of a $5 footlong sub.

when I order an Italian sub, I expect at least: provolone, cooked salami, imported ham, cappicola...these ingredients are fairly standard for an italian hoagie ( call it a sub...subs have issues ). Ask anyone who makes these sandwiches what goes on an italian hoagie ( sub..whatever ) they will pretty much tell you what I typed above. NOW....I KNOW Subway has these ingredients...I KNOW because I asked...but why is it when I ordered an Italian Hoagie ( sub ) they threw two, maybe three pieces of ham or whatever on it, and made the rest lettuce and tomato and whatever the fuck they throw on there? Does NOT EQUAL $5.75!!!! NO F'ing WAY

I stopped getting it with mayo and that solved the problem. I rarely go there now. I prefer Jimmy John's or Panera Bread for sandwiches.

I HATE Quiznos. My parents and I had it once. We all got the Prime Rib Cheesesteak and it was the worst sandwich any of us had ever eaten. It was Slimy, soggy, and didn't taste good. My mom and I both threw most of ours away. My dad ate his but he'll eat anything, even if he doesn't like it. I'll never go there again.

But I ate at a Wienerschnitzel fairly recently, and it just plain sucked - lukewarm, drooping fries just slightly thicker than shoestring potatoes, and a burger that reminded me of those microwavable ones from 7-11. :puke:

41. Definitely Taco Bell.
I have a buddy who used to work at one and he explained to me that their ground beef looks like dog vomit pre-cooked. All I needed to hear.

42. Another one - Dominoes' Pizza and Pizza Hut
Both places taste like cardboard with cheese. And Pizza Hut's new "pasta trays"? I'm sorry but I'm not even touching anything that is advertised as "3 pounds of food!". That just sounds like you're eating from a feeding trough at that point. :puke:

46. I don't think most of them are nearly as bad as people say
I mean, unless you're expecting cuisine, then yeah, they suck. If you expect fast, cheap insta-food, I can't think of any that are exceptionally objectionable.

Jack in the Box is probably my least favorite, although I've only been there a couple of times. Both times I was not sure that the "beef" I was eating was in fact a cow product.

I must be in the minority of people who LIKES Taco Bell. No, it's not real Mexican, but it's super cheap, I like their Fire sauce, and the rice and crunchy tacos are always decent.

50. Taco Bell
Every once in a while I get a craving for it - maybe three times a year - and I always regret it for the next 24 hours. Besides, those soggy, steamed tortillas are mondo gross. Tortillas should be al dente.

55. Really? I like them.
I never order anything "new" though. I stick with regular crispy tacos (add onions) and the mild sauce (better flavor than the hotter) Once in a while I get a regular bean tostada, add onions and no red sauce (ugh that stuff is gross).

They are always coming up with new crap (like pizza?) and it is always awful (and more expensive). I learned a long time ago not to order it.

Christ, I STILL feel violated. :puke:

70. Taco Bell generally makes a decent bean burrito.
Not much else, though.

72. Little Tavern
This chain went out of business in the 80's because the food was so bad. It was in the Baltimore area and featured sliders or mini burgers that were horribly greasy and upset my stomach.

76. Dairy Queen
Cheap ice-cream-like substances with hot dogs on the side. I don't think they have anything on their menu that has any nutritional value whatsoever.

78. Ooooh... I love DQ although the ones that are grandfathered --
the ones that can add their own unique menu items without corporate pressure are the best. The DQ in Hinton, WV is the best ever!!
