The a/c guy is finally here.
It's 80 degrees inside (with the main and portable a/c on) and 88 degrees outside. He's getting on to cleaning the coil and a bunch of other stuff. Who wants to guess what this'll cost me?

Also, do places still buy blood? I may need to sell some.

1. Heh.
They pay good money for blood here where I work. No kidding!
Hope the AC fix is not too bad. I bet the doggies are very unhappy at the moment. :(

5. I think we just passed $300
and so far he's only worked on the outside unit. The handler is next.

Yay.

7. Better hope it's not the coil. You're looking at 4 figures if it is.

8. He said the coil was good. My main problem...
the fucking air return is too small for the size of the handler, so it's not pulling enough air. They're sending someone else out on Tuesday to do some kind of airflow analysis. THIS is where it's going to get expensive.

12. They HATE strangers in the house.
Much barking. Much irritation for dad.

14. I'll bet. Not fun at all.
But what I was actually asking about, was how they had handled the heat all day.

I hope everything works out for you. :)

15. If it's an old unit, and you have the means, I highly suggest replacing it.
Granted I spent about $4200 on the one in my old house (a/c outside compressor, inside blower, inside gas furnace). But it was 1/2 the noise and 1/2 + the monthly expenses. I got a tax credit and rebates from my utility companies too. I had some other work done (such as solar screens, extra insulation) and spend $6k total, but got $2100 total back.

Plus having a warranty for those things is NICE.
