that says nothing more than the letters DU. I'm sure you've all seen the ones with letters on them. about 5" wide by 3" high oval. 2 or 3 letters. Peel and stick. White sticker, black lettering. Maybe other colors would work.

Someone on DU makes stickers, I bought one of the "that one" bumper stickers but I can't remember who it was.

Thanks

2. send me a PM
my uncle is a sign-maker, and he has a machine that will do those decals. For a small fee, I can get him to make you one (I'd offer it for free, but this is his living)

4. Nice idea
Hate to use a cliche but that would be elegant and understated. I'm not big on bumperstickers, but I'd like that one.

The only drawback might be that it's too understated. No one but another DU'er would know what it meant.

I've often wondered what those stickers you mention are all about. I see them all the time and have no idea what the hell they mean.

7. They are country stickers
You see them all over in Europe. The letters are an abbreviation for whatever country the car's owner is from (or whatever country they want to "represent").

8. Thanks for the info
I did sort of suspect something like that.

Since the license plate would identify the country of registration I guess these must be some sort of vanity thing. Like "I'm a member of this club, and if you're not already in it, you never will be. Ta." I can't see any other reason for them in this country.

12. A lot of license plates from different countries tend to look the same
But the stickers make it easier for law enforcement to identify a vehicle from a distance-- like during a car chase for example.

Here's a list of all the country codes.

13. That makes sense
I suppose from a police point of view that would make a lot of sense in this country too.

Thanks for the links. I learn something interesting just about every time I come here.

14. Yeah, we have them all over the Keys.
BCK is for Big Coppitt Key, GKM for Geiger Key Marina. There are many more.

The Outer Banks in NC has OBX.

6. Try SupportOurRibbons.com
They have a custom 'maker' there for magnetic signs ('ribbon' shapes, rectangles, and ovals) that you can use to come up with the graphics, then if you make something you like, you can order it, and they'll make it and mail it to you.
