46. the cool thing about that

was as she and I were giving him a hard time.. they met (very cool) and she and I - during our teasing/ribbing of him - found ourselves in a bunch of side conversations - had always enjoyed talkng but never found we had so much in common. So they found each other - and through obnoxious banter - we also set the foundations of a mutual admiration society/friendship. Which is very cool. And I think that I might be able to weasel a place to stay if I were to ever get to Sarasota *have to have our priorties straight!*

Thanks for the thought - but there has been little time for looking for our nurturing that guy... have a 'friend' I spend some time with - but more for diversion. Right now the baby has been taking all my time - and my baby is a new nonprofit organization. Still in awe that we have been able to get someting going from scatch. :D

BTW, I had to drive on Rte. 76 last weekend and I was thinking of you the whole time. I've lived here all my life and I still get sweaty armpits when I have to drive on that *#&^@ highway!

It is much more difficult to drive up north and that road you drove is almost as bad as going through New York City on I 95. I caught the new Eagles Staduim...quite the place but it was rather fast staying with the flow of traffic.

The worse time I had sweaty arm pits was just getting my license and driving to Florida at 16. It was like 2am, Dad sleeping in the front seat and brother stretched out in the backseat and I'm driving through the New Jersey Tunnel with a big Mack Truck blowing his horn even at the speed of 80. My Dad waking up and cursing at the nerve of the truck driver...and I held it back down at the speed limit but he never stopped doing the horn. I made it through the tunnel and glad to see the truck fly by without any accident but was disappointed no offical around to witness it...that goes back some time ago now.

Highways can be scary at times, and this road trip to New England and back was something. We were very lucky not to be in an accident, and I'm thinking, how's the train to travel up north?

And that road you drove around Philly really displays the very large area you live and hats off to you!

Good to see you northofdenali...I love that picture of your cat. I am feeding a stray that looks like yours...I've got about four cats outside and my two in...the only thing the birds stay away more and the squirrels are pissed off!

On my way out now taking Sarge to get his bottom braces on, all healed from wisdom extractions, he'll have that Hollywood smile.

64. I Want To Thank You Friends For All The Love Back

I have bookmarked this thread because it holds dear to me the ones that have posted in it. There are alot among the missing that I hope to see again. DU is not the same without them but know they are in my heart and my hopes to have them back posting so we can all enjoy their presence.

I must say we have alot diversity here, everyone from all walks of life that bring so much to DU, their talents, hopes and dreams.
I'm proud of the accomplishments we all strive for. DUers' running for office in the past, some now are running with those who hold office,and how this place has grown in such recognition, with over 30,000 members since our humble beginnings.

Last night I got to watch one of our well known DUer, William Rivers Pitt and to see him up there speaking his wonderful words he writes from his knowledge of the truth with such passion to make others aware of our situation and what this Bush adminstration is all about.
He's been a true patriot for the cause since the day I met him here on DU and I value his friendship. He makes the world a better place to live in as all of you do being the DUers that you are.

DU now DU2 has grown into a larger picture of many views, lots of issues, ideas of people and their opinions, most of us who are sincere in our conversing to help one another. To give support to each other, to pat each other on the back and even a thank you goes a long way for making us all feel good.

Everytime I come back to DU I see we are fortunate to hold on to those values and the reaching out to one another to those of us hurting makes us some pretty awesome people to be around. And look at the ones that found love and married, it's wonderful what DU has done and what it does for all of us.

So this liberal heart is trying to tell you all...many many thank yous' for being the friends you are
