When should I visit Montreal?
I've decided that my vacation this year will be to Montreal. There are two possible timeframes when I can visit: Early August or late October/early November.

August would be good from the standpoint that it will presumably be warmer, more hospitable to walking and taking in an outdoor sporting event (an Impact or Alouettes game) or concert.

October/November would be good, because I'm a hockey fan and would definitely like to take in a Canadiens game (or QMJHL if I'm feeling adventurous).

What do you all think?

1. I'd go for late October.
Lower humidity, and if you can catch the leaves when they're changing you can make some lovely side trips to nearby areas to see some lovely foliage. And you can see the Habs.

Although summer in Montreal is a total party.

2. Never! Trust me!
The one and only time I was there, I came back with viral bronchitis. It isn't worth the risk!

I had a 104+ fever for 7 days and nearly died. Stay AWAY from there.

However, if you fail to heed my advice, the SuperSex on St. Catherine St. is pretty cool, and there is the cleverly named "Peel Pub" on Peel St. Not that I would know about this PERSONALLY mind you.

6. I agree
It's not feasible with my schedule, but I would definitely be up for seeing Stevie Wonder and Dave Brubeck this year.

5. I went up there for New Years' Eve a few years ago
We called it Operation Drunk America. I wouldn't suggest going up there for that.

We almost had to leave one of my friends behind due to the Pirate's Code.
