You Meet Someone. They Tell You Their Name. How Quick Before You Forget It?
Edited on Wed Jun-17-09 03:39 PM by Mr. Ected
Me? The name gets lost in the shuffle in between seconds 0.01 and 0.02.

How about you?

On edit: And even worse - Doesn't it drive you crazy when they remember YOUR name and use it more often in conversation than necessary, KNOWING you forgot their name? AAARRGGH!

2. In nanoseconds. Though I've tried paying attention, I seldom catch people's names
Now I usually ask for a business card and read the name - I retain printed stuff I read better than anything I hear.

3. I can recall a face AND/OR a voice from a quarter century ago. Names...
gone in .000001 seconds. Not so good in my line of work.

29. I generally forget the beginning of the name before ...
... they've said the end of it. I seriously need to hear most names three or four times before I have any recollection, and even then I'm more likely to think of some other name that only sounds similar to me.
