Anybody else watching this year's Armageddon like TV Movie on NBC?
Its god awful, but on a slow night, I find myself watching the tale of death, destruction, and terrible acting.

Too bad Jason Alexander had to leave so early.

1. Is that still on? I thought it aired last week?
And everything I heard about it told me that it was incredibly bad.

8. First half sucked
and they killed off Christopher Lloyd within the first half hour!

I complained about it last week. I'm only watching cause there's nothing else on.

7. There was another "meteor-threatens-Earth" movie on Tv a few weeks ago.
It, too, was absolutely dreadful. My wife and I turned it off after an hour. I was done with it as soon as they confused a brown dwarf with a neutron star. For a TV movie about an astronomical subject, did they not bother to hire an astronomer as a script consultant?

10. Now why would they want to do that?
Studies have shown that the general populace is actually turned off by smart television.

That's how we wind up with a script where a main belt (twixt Mars and Jupiter) asteroid is hit by a comet and twenty four hours later it's slamming into Earth. And meteors moving slowly enough to be hit (and vaporized) by shoulder fired missiles.

11. lol.
I saw that one too. Everything about it was a little out there.

I'm not sure what it is about these movies that makes me watch. They always have tremendous build up, and then in the last 10 minutes they sloppily try to wrap everything up. Drives me insane. I don't know if they just run out of time or if the writers have only finished 10th grade english. Typical amateur story writing.

12. Why oh why are the meteroids on fire in deep space?!

13. I thought they had dug up the equally bad stinker that was a SciFi movie
A while back, but looking it up that was named "Asteroid" (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0118261/) Flat out stinker, bad science, bad special effects, bad acting, bad plot. Here is how bad that movie was - IMDB.com mostly has storyboard sketches instead of photos from the movie! The ads I saw for this new one looked too much like that old one I didn't stick around after "Merlin."

Instead I bounced between "Ace of Cakes" and "Design Star" - Duff & crew built a planet and a Hubble Telescope for a NASA party, and a mountain populated by everything you can find in Alaska for an Alaska 50th Anniversary party. Oh, and there was also a Serenity cake from "Firefly" and a pig flying an airplane for an engagement party. It was cool, especially the Hubble and Serenity!
