4. Remember: You don't have to go see Oz in the Emerald City!
You can tap the damn shoes together as soon as you get them!

Teasing! Be careful. If there's anyway to avoid biking through this, by all means avoid it.

6. To Edmonton? Are you serious?
Isn't that a couple of thousand kilometers north of "Tornado Alley"?

Throw in the wildfires in southeast B.C. and...

...if Bush* hadn't told me that global warming and climate change were myths, I'd really be worried! </sarcasm>

7. I was once hit by lightning when on my bicycle
but, as my feet were on rubber pedals, the bike itself was on rubber tires, and my butt was on a rubber seat, I didn't ground - the strike went right through me. Every hair on my body stood on end. It was the single weirdest feeling I've ever experienced. I was quite unharmed. As far as I know.

9. Made it home
I saw the top of part of it.

Apparently it hit St. Albert and destroyed a golf course.

I'm still trying to get details.

There's another cell coming.

Some guy just phoned from his car. Couldn't understand a word he was saying from the pounding on the roof.

17. Be careful...
And do not, repeat.. DO NOT go under an over pass unless it is your lass hope! You can get sucked out easy! I know what you see on tv, however, your best chance is in a gully or ditch, face down with your head and neck coverd. if you are in a car, stop and run twards the tornado for a few feet and then get in the ditch! It is for the same reason you run twards a train if your car is about to be hit.

19. That was a dailyoccurance in May here in oklahoma...
I know not everyone is used to all the hail and the tornadoes all over the country or continent, but we went through it for several days in May this year. Several places we pass everyday were completely destroyed. But we were lucky this year. Only one person was killed. Could have been more, but of course, the weather people like to hear themselves talk. I guess sometimes that's helpful.

:wtf:

It's hailing like a sonofabitch. There's no clouds overhead and there's nothing on the radar.

21. I have a phobia about tornadoes
I could never live in the Midwest. I have recurring nightmares about tornadoes, in fact I had one last night, very realistic, it ended when my Mom and I hid in a closet and ended up getting sucked up, thankfully that is when I awoke. I just think it's such a violent way to die out of the blue....(shudder)
I'm glad you are ok...
