My radio is trying to convert me to Christianity. Should I turn the truck in?
This is the weirdest thing, and it's no joke. My truck contains quite possibly the most fucked-up radio ever made by the hand of man. It doesn't tune in very many stations well, and the ones it DOES tune in well are Christian stations. I was driving to St. Louis with a truckload of windshields a few weeks ago, and I found the station KSHE (which is supposed to be one of the best rock stations in the Midwest) down around Centralia, IL. (KSHE is out of St. Louis.) So I'm cruising along, listening to some decent music, and the second I crossed the state line into Missouri...KSHE disappeared. Naturally, I start searching for it...when bang! Christian stations right and left. No KSHE.

I went to Elizabeth, New Jersey. That's close to New York City. You'd think I'd be able to pick up lots of stations, rock and rap and everything else. Nope, only Christian stations came in.

I'm in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, tonight. I found LOTS of Christian stations in the Nashville area. I also found 103.5 WKDF. Twenty-five years ago when I was in the 101st Airborne, KDF was "Nashville's Best Rock." Now it's "No one plays more country!" They're in fucking Nashville. I didn't think they needed any more country stations there. Oh, and KDF went away the second I crossed into Davidson County.

Is "Radio proselytizes" a good enough reason to get rid of a truck?

1. Most of the radios I've had in various big trucks
sucked in some way or the other. They still put cassette players in a lot of trucks up until about 5 years ago. I said to hell with it and got a satellite radio. No commercials and no censorship. Sirius is about $160 a year for the service and maybe another $100 for a good receiver. My receiver is almost 4 years old and it still works good.

2. Obviously, God is making your radio do that
in an attempt to save your pitiful, damned soul. What other explanation could there be?

4. Maybe He hates the Air Force
We use the old Air Force logo on our trucks for some reason...I have no idea why, none of the company founders were in the Air Force, but that's the logo we use.

3. SiriusXM is the only way to go.
I never have to listen to anything I don't want to, and as Tobin state above, it's a fairly inexpensive route to just about every type of music, sports, news, talk, NPR...you get the picture.

7. It has one
That's weird too. When you turn the volume knob up more than a certain amount, it changes the track. I've been trying to purge the Christianity out of this radio by playing Ozzy albums, but it's not working.
