The local newspaper editorial this am pissed me off

The editorial board piece declared that most people in the US were satisfied with their health coverage. I've heard the complaint from real people that they could not use their insurance because they could not afford the co-pays. My daughter just died from preventative medical condition but could not get care from the state of Washington because she was $3 over the allowed limit. I know of another parent facing stomach illness of her son and there is no help. For all she knows he has cancer. Yeah, we're real satisfied. I e-mailed the editors and told them to get out of their ivory towers and get in touch with the working poor and wake up

1. It might be true...

The majority of people might be satisfied with their health coverage because they've never had to use it. Talk to people with medical issues or families and the matter changes entirely.

When Paul first had his heart surgery the insurance covered 100%. If he had to have surgery now it would cost us about 10k for bills, maybe more.

I'm satisfied with my insurance, though, because I don't use it. Let me have a major issue, however, and find out what's really included and I might be less inclined.
