Fucking hell - I use some of their products, but I FUCKIN HATE Apple!!
Why do they treat their users/clients/customers like fucking morons?

Yeah, Windows crashes and it's buggy and has problems as an operating system, but fucking hell, at least with Windows stuff you can actually do what you want with it in an intuitive normal way.

With Apple, sometimes you can do what you want, but you have to go about in some totally non-intuitive random fucking way, or, more likely, the Oracles of Apple have decided that what you want to do is stupid so has made sure that the program can't do it.

:grr:

So fucking angry.

All I want to do is get a group of 15 songs, all from different CDs, to play in a certain order on iTunes and ALSO down to my iPod in that specific order, and hell and damnation it's taken me longer to figure out how that is apparently impossible than it took me to rip the 15 goddamn CDs.

Of course, since it's Apple, whatever magic/voodoo iTunes uses to decide in what order to list music is nowhere to be found so that an intelligent and computer savvy person like me might be able to over-ride their piece of shit system (assuming there is one). Nope, nothing at all from the Most Holy Oracles of Apple about how their stuff works.

Because, remember - to Apple, you the consumer are too goddamn stupid to be entrusted with any details about how their shit works.

What is it about the arrogance of the Most Holy and Revered Steve Jobs that he told his employees "Our customers might think that they want their music to play in a certain order, but they would be wrong. For their own safety, we must ensure that they cannot, and must trust that in our God-given holiness we know best what order their music ought to play. Our customers are so fucking dumb! Such children. They are lucky to have such a benevolent God-Figure as me to tell them what they want."

Asshole.

1. I love everything Mac, the products, the service, everything. Everything, that is, except...
iTunes.

WTF, iTunes?

:wtf:

I agree completely with you.

3. Make a playlist,.. drag songs into it in the order you want.
That's it.

You can sync the new playlist to your iPod or burn a CD based on that playlist. The songs will play in the order you added them to the playlist. You can rearrange songs in the playlist after you add them.

This has always worked as advertised for me.

Am I missing something?

9. Did you try the command "Copy to play order"?
I can't remember what menu it's under, but it allows you to save the sequence of songs. Try that, then sync your iPod.

The playlists on my iPhone/iPod are all in the order I saved them on my iTunes. I can't figure out what else could be causing the problem.

I worked at Apple for over 10 years. There's plenty of arrogance there and I can understand people loving to hate the company, but they do make really amazing, elegant stuff.

7. I'm a PC guy, but I love most of the Apple stuff
It's the fucking company I hate with their closed systems and fascist corporate policies and draconian rules for developers and designers. They've become one of the WORST corporate offenders with their off-shoring and outsourcing and ruthless tactics.

I liked the old Apple a lot better (when they were far less successful). As a businessman, I can respect them for being the best at what they do, but as a consumer and software guy, I abhor them.

11. I logged about 18 months working at Apple as a contractor. Apple can bite me.
I worked there during the Scully years. The first stretch was nice...great people, good environment, and I had an excellent opportunity to teach myself how to use a Mac while on the job.

Second stretch, not so nice. There had been a layoff, so people were bitter. Each time I returned it got progressively worse. The last time was one of the worst contract assignments of my career, and that's saying something.

Like anything else, it's the Cult of Personality. I found out, over time, that I did not have what it toook to be a member of that particular cult.

12. You bring up an important point. Talking about groups or clubs or cults.
Although not talking about the company apple. I think the guy that started it is interesting saw him in a couple interviews.

But here is something about 'clubs' including groups that claim some power. Their are some that think everyone wants to be part of their group. Those are the bad ones, because that requires superiority complex. Many groups, scifi conventions, apple fans, or anything else people identify with, they are open and just like the company of other people with same ideas, but they do not form two tier systems with secrecy and exclusion. Because although you might not be part of there group without same interest, most of those groups do not think they are better, or treat people not part of their group worse.

Also if a club only allows people they approve to be part of the club, then over time they become more and more stagnant, since the ideas of what they think picks who is the next set in their group. Making them become ideological.

It makes sense why the bad groups do those things, they have to think it is good what they do, and to think that, includes the delusion other people want to be like them.

The secretive elite club for example, although there could be a few of them. If they do not think people want to be part of their group, then they have to think their club is not really special. Or they think those that do not want to be part of it have sour grape syndrome. I understand groups wanting to be around like minded people, but when there is special treatment for people that are part of their group, it goes bad fast. Having only approved members, only makes sense if members are not treated better then other people, by people in membership.

I think kicking the door down is to help them see a bigger part of the world, not to get with their club.

Sure having money would be good, I don't deny that I have those thoughts, but they also require certain rules of actions like secrecy and two tier belief in society. Parts of me I would not be willing to sell.

Although free money is tempting, I have found rather simple ways to keep that temptation away. And know I will have money anyways.

Anyway, they probably have some interesting things, and it is fun to look into their ways of life as much as I think they should see what is outside, but wanting to agree with them on certain things, based on some rule sets. LOL. That is just part of the mindset of some.

I actually respect many people that are part of some groups, although I disagree with parts of what make up rules of some groups. But everyone has different opinions.

I should say, after following those thoughts for many years I found a group where all are welcome, and instead of treating people not of the group bad, it seems you learn ways to better yourself and help people not in your group, many times more then your own group. Although I don't think that group is better or worse, it is pleasant and a good fit and you can say anything you want about the group, no secrets. And one of the fun things is some people that are also part of secret groups are in that same group also, so you get to see all kinds of people.
