RIP RONNIE JAMES DIO

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zj3mKYASycg
In The Temple Of The King
One day, in the year of the fox
Came a time remembered well,
When the strong young man of the rising sun
Heard the tolling of the great black bell.
One day in the year of the fox,
When the bell began to ring,
It meant the time had come for one to go
To the temple of the king.

There in the middle of the circle he stands,
Searching, seeking.
With just one touch of his trembling hand,
The answer will be found.
Daylight waits while the old man sings,
Heaven help me!
And then like the rush of a thousand wings,
It shines upon the one.
And the day has just begun.

One day in the year of the fox
Came a time remembered well,
When the strong young man of the rising sun
Heard the tolling of the great black bell.
One day in the year of the fox,
When the bell began to sing
It meant the time had come for the one to go
To the temple of the king.

There in the middle of the people he stands,
Seeing, feeling.
With just a wave of the strong right hand, he's gone
To the temple of the king.

Far from the circle, at the edge of the world,
He's hoping, wondering.
Thinking back on the stories he's heard of
What he's going to see.
There, in the middle of a circle it lies.
Heaven help me!
Then all could see by the shine in his eyes
The answer had been found.

Back with the people in the circle he stands,
Giving, feeling.
With just one touch of a strong right hand, they know
Of the temple and the king.

9. I had heard that he was battling stomach cancer
I saw an interview with him recently. He was a great talent and seemed to be a genuinely nice guy. I'd do anything that have a voice like that.

Dio was one of my personal saviors when I was in high school. He and some other heavy metal heroes helped me get through a difficult time back then. Thanks for all of the great, classic music, Ronnie.

10. R.I.P. Ronald Padavona
His real name.
And if you want a real kick ass piece of work, get the cd, album, download, whatever, simply entitled "Elf". It is a Ronnie James Dio before the Dio. They had three albums and they were only GREAT! Please listen to them if you can. The tune "Gambler Gambler" is worth the price of any album or whatever you may buy.

11. I am shocked and saddened by this news. I have been a fan of Ronnie's
Edited on Sun May-16-10 07:33 PM by hellbound-liberal
since his days with Elf in the 70s. Followed him through his days with Roger Glover and the Butterfly's Ball with Ian Gillan and David Coverdale from Deep Purple, and then Rainbow and Sabbath. he was a giant in the world of rock and roll and he will be missed. RIP Ronnie!

17. Truth is, Ronnie's recording career even went back before Elf
He actually formed his first band in 1957 and was putting out records soon after that.

Look up "Ronnie Dio and the Prophets" on You Tube.

Totally a different style of music than what you're used to hearing from him. But the voice is unmistakable.

13. Very sad news.
I saw him the summer before last with Heaven and Hell. Amazing that he was 67 years old when he passed today. That made him 65 when I saw him and he was still kickin' ass. A huge talent and he'll be missed.

Safe passage to you Ronnie.
