2. Why You so Mean To Me
Pay no attention to me...I'm just cleaning house and listening to blues and taking a break every so often cause my back is killing me.
At least I'm not crying tonight. :)

I used to think this song said "cold weiner". I think I was about 6 and they made it a joke and asked me what I wanted for Christmas and I'd said a cold weiner. So they wrapped up a cold weiner for Christmas and with all the cameras on me, I unwrapped it and was mortified and threw it on the floor crying. I think that's why I have the psychological problems I have today. Parents can be so cruel.

33. Still sounds as exciting today as it did 43 years ago.
And you at least seem to keep up with a lot of very hip modern artists. I swore I'd never turn into a musical dinosaur, but I think it's finally happening. Oh well, made it to 58 before the dinosauritude kicked in ....And if you're an old coot, and I'm 5 years older than you are, what the hell does that make me ( DON'T ANSWER THAT !)

46. Wilson Pickett was really, really big here in Germany.
His songs that are near and dear to my heart are

I Found A True Love - and
It's Too Late - and
Don't Let The Green Grass Fool You.

49. Impressive--most people don't know those songs
Hell, I don't even think I know It's Too Late ,but the other two are ,along with I'm in Love, probably my all-time favorite Pickett songs. And I have Bobby Womack's original version of I'm in Love on my you tube favorites ( along with his original version of Lookin' For a Love that J. Geils made famous ). I also favorited Roger Collins' original version of She's Lookin' Good , but as good as that is, Wilson really owns that one...And I love I Found a Love ( different song than I Found a True Love, but you probably knew that) that he did with The Falcons ( including Eddie Floyd of Knock on Wood fame) before going solo. I performed that one A Capella at the Telluride Jazz Festival in 1990 as a special guest/"token" (or tokin') boy Rhinestone with the girls (from Joanie's website).

50. You know, I hate it when I become envious
... but I would love to be able to sing, *really* sing, while the sad fact is that I couldn't carry a tune if it was in a bucket. How I envy people their beautiful singing voices!

There are two old James Brown songs (must be from the late 1950s I guess) I've always really liked, one is Bewildered and the other is Please Please Please.

"...I call her Magnolia...and I know that she's mine, mine, all mine". How could anyone ever forget the Wicked Pickett!
