Anyone Here Have Any Calling Cards? (Could Use Some Advice)
I'm trying to have some calling cards made up. So tired of having to scribble my name and number down on scraps of paper and such. I'm looking for something simple and was curious if anyone here has ever had calling cards made for themselves. All I want is my full name on one line, my phone number on the 2nd line and my email address on the 3rd line. Very simple. Now, let me tell you what I do not want. Laser printed photocopied cards. Instead, I'd like them printed from an old fashion printing press. Any ideas? I went on to Goggle and all I am getting is computer laser copied cards. I'm also looking for some neat creative ideas. I'm looking for elegant old fashion(retro perhaps) styled calling cards. So, if anyone has any suggestions or ideas, I'd be grateful. Many thanks!

5. Find a printer that is located near your local courthouse.
Attorneys frequently use high-end calling cards. At least they did when I was still at it. Figure out who can produce them in your local area.

7. Thanks
Thanks for the replies. I found a site I really like, I only wish they had a better selection.

Some fun stuff and very retro. I want simple, but also something kind of unique and fun. I stumbled onto a blog where they had all these really old calling cards from the Victorian era up to the 1960's. I am getting a ton of ideas now so I may just end up browsing all the cool blogs. The possibilities are endless, which only makes it tougher. Thanks again everyone!

9. the term you are looking for is "letterpress"
the old kind of printing. My dad was an old-time journeyman printer who could set type by hand and feed a press one item at a time. People still do make vintage papers by letterpress. Beautiful ones.

From wikipedia:

According to Wiki, letterpress is a term for the relief printing of text and image using a press with a “type-high bed” printing press and movable type, in which a reversed, raised surface is inked and then pressed into a sheet of paper to obtain a positive right-reading image. It was the normal form of printing text in the West from its invention by Johannes Gutenberg in the mid-15th century until the 19th century, and remained in wide use for books and other uses until the second half of the 20th century. In addition to the direct impression of inked movable type onto paper or another receptive surface, the term letterpress can also refer to the direct impression of inked printmaking blocks such as photo-etched zinc “cuts” (plates), linoleum blocks, wood engravings, etc., using such a press.

Here's one link -- you can find many such enterprises via google:
