1. Lovely, but
I like this version too.

I may be the only one here who's old enough to remember the wonderful Mrs. Miller. :-)

2. Mrs. Miller was a favorite at our community radio station...

expose their community to lesser-known forms of music.

What I loved most about her is that her first album was
titled, "Mrs. Miller's Greatest Hits".

4. I just heard a version on the radio by Frank Sinatra and a Spanish man
whose name I can't remember.

6. Eliane Elias, "The Girl From Ipanema," Live at the 2005 San Javier Jazz Festival in Spain
Love the original, no doubt about it, but I also love Ms. Elias:

She's vaguely similar to Diana Krall, but I consider Krall to be somewhat of a cardboard, comatose diva, almost like Julie London if someone found a way to extract every last drop of joy and life force from her still-breathing body. She'd still look good, but her concert would put you into a deep REM sleep.

Eliane splits her stuff between vocal and instrumental, and I generally listen to mix CDs of one or the other. Sometimes I want to hear her sing and play, other times just play.

Since you like Jobim (or at minimum "Girl From Ipanema"), you might really enjoy this one:

7. I love that song. One of my favorites ever!
My favorite version has the Portuguese in it as well, but that's a lovely version as well.
