The US states that border the lakes don't border Canada, correct?

11. I would (and below, I did!) count them as bordering.
Since, for example, Wisconsin extends up into Lake Superior half way, and Canada extends halfway down, the borders meet.

If the OP means only bordering land-to-land, then Wisconsin does not border Canada.

Washington, Idaho, Montana, North Dakota, Minnesota, Wisconsin*, Michigan, Pennsylvania*, New York, Vermont, New Hampshire, and Maine.

*Great Lakes boundry

Now to check with Google Earth...

Okay, Michigan's is a Great Lakes boundry, and I didn't realize that Ohio also shared a Great Lakes boundry with Canada. -1, I guess. 12/13?

29. Depends on how you define 'border'
Technically Ohio and Wisconsin are all separated by a lake. But I could jump in a lake and swim to the other side of Canada without crossing another state.

Edited on Wed Aug-04-10 09:38 AM by LynneSin
Washington
Idaho
Montana
North Dakota
Minnesota
Michigan
Ohio (Technically it's separated by a lake)
New Work
Vermont
Maine

Ok I'm going to post this now and then check. If I'm wrong I'll edit and admit it.

Damnit, I forgot New Hampshire.

And technically Wisconsin could be consider a borderstate although like Ohio there's a lake in the middle.

Crap forgot Alaska too.
