1. My cats are compulsive ladder climbers.

One of them got me into a little trouble doing that. I had leaned a stepladder against the wall to do some painting. The cats were always running up and down, and even jumping from the top of the ladder to the top of a nearby door. I left the ladder up for them to play with.

So one day I received in the mail a bill from the city for $35 for responding to a false alarm call generated by my alarm system. I couldn't figure out how that had happened until I realized that the indoor motion sensor was aimed high so the cats wouldn't trigger it -- but when they were up higher, on the ladder, they set off the alarm.

I took the ladder down after that. The cats will have to play on something else.

But he jumps up to the top of the stepladder, which is all of three steps up. I wish he'd eat up there, though, as Delenn finishes her food, and then eats his, so he doesn't get much.
