I just ordered pizza with my unemployment money!!!
Like I haven't been doing that already for the past year :P

Let's see, large Vegetarian with a coupon for a free 2-topping medium and a piece of tira misu. With tip, it should come to an even $31.00.

I know y'all don't care, but if I posted this in GD it'd turn into a massive flame-war. We're not supposed to be buying a single grain of junk food while on the cheapo's dime

8. I will be having beer.
I've five different types to choose from:

Mythos
Rio Blanco Pale Ale (brewed in Texas by Real Ale Brewing)
Baltika 5, 6, 7 (one bottle of each)

I'll probably pick the Mythos, Greek beer

although I'm not figuring in the TiraMisu...

6. I live in Houston.
And I probably could get it for less somewhere else, but I like their quality. I know it's a chain (Sarpino's) but New York Pizzeria's quality has gone downhill for the last few years, like they're using cheaper ingredients. I'm also too far away from the best pizza place in town, Star Pizza.

42. Yeah, we used to really like a local place, but he evidently changed his
ingredients as costs went up...we found several others that are much better, though a little more...
not much use buying a lousy pizza...

3. OMG, how many meals you could have cooked yourself with that
money!!! Shame on you. And I am sure you are just sitting around all day waiting until your unemployment runs out before you look for a job. You have all that free time. Tsk tsk. Flame to you, honey.

5. Thanks to so much ozone in the air today,
I've been coughing so much I didn't have the energy to cook in this hot apartment ;)

I'd like to make my olive-loaf again, but I'll have to wait another day for that. I've got an interview tomorrow, so best not to overwork myself tonight :)

I was told by my contractor that when the client gets to this point, actually asking people to come in for interviews, that they will likely hire, too. So, I'll make a good impression for them :)

17. Congrats! You're Stimulating The Economy!!
Your $31 will be used by the chain to pay their employees, pay rent, pay for supplies, and repay bank loans.

In turn, their employees will spend that money going out to the movies or buying clothes.

The rent will be used by the building owner to pay property taxes to the state which pays public employees.

The pizza suppliers will pay their employees, rent, and bank loans.

The banks will have more money to lend out to other businesses.

Now, if you didn't order out, all of those people would not be making any money tonight.

Wow, kentauros, you've done more for the economy in one order than the Bush admin. did in 8 years.

But I might sweat it off this summer n this hot apartment! I have central air and it works, but the unit is too small for my 950 sq.ft., plus I'm on the top floor of a flat-roofed building. It there ever was insulation up there, it's long gone...

39. I just turn it to 65F at night,
freeze a little in the morning but then it's around 80F by the late afternoon. Bearable, but it shouldn't have to be that way. My landlord is typical in the business: if it's not broken, there's no need to replace it, no matter how inadequate it is...

41. I've already told my neighbor (the handyman for our apartments)
that when I'm employed, we're going to buy some outdoor white paint and paint the roof of just my building. It's supposed to improve indoor heating/cooling efficiencies for something like %25-40! I've suggested this very same tactic to the landlord, but he won't budge in trying anything "radical". Then again, he's a libertarian, so spending money to save money is the last thing on his mind...
