I missed something - when did the DUZYs go away, and why?

Maybe doing it once or twice a month would be better. :shrug:

It would be cool to have a "DUzy nominate" button. I imagine that would make it much easier for whomever is coordinating everything.

One day, the admins and the mods had a meeting and realized that there was not one funny person left on DU...not a single soul.

So they decided..."fuck the DUzy's".

They are hoping that some funny people show up again some day so that they can have the Duzy's again, but right now, it is not looking good.

..you should apply anyway...it's like applying for that management position at work you know damn well they don't want to let you get within 100 yards of (at least they don't want to let ME within 100 yards of). Just the process of making them imagine a world with you in charge can be cathartic.

I actually think that I would make a good mod and be able to be fair, especially since mod decisions are made by consensus. The problem is, I would never be able to convince anyone of that, so I don't even try. :D

Honest to God, I don't have the time to do the job right, or I'd volunteer. Thank you though, I appreciate the compliment; I, too am becoming a really grumpy old bastard.

Another thing...I made the mistake of choosing a name which somewhat honestly describes my political outlook. A lot of people see "BlueDog" after "Omaha" and wonder how it is I have not been TS'd -- or, alternatively, how I have not been savagely attacked by the Children of the Corn.
