General question: How do your prejudices help you?

Certainly they protect us in some ways or they wouldn't have lasted so long, right? What's the upside of prejudices? Not just for society at large, but for you personally.

1. I'm prejudiced against some breeds of dogs, and not others.

Little smooshed faced dogs and pits put me on alert.

Chickens, too.

I was a attacked as a child.

I'm over it, mostly, but in the bird world I'm still a little prejudiced against chickens.

And gulls, I was bitten by a gull as a younger man.
