Decisions, decisions. Why did the young man make this choice?
A young man walks into an unfamiliar town. He's on his way to a job interview in the next town down the road and decides to get a haircut and something to eat before moving on. One of the first store fronts he encounters is a barber shop. The floor is littered with hair. It looks like it hasn't been swept in weeks. The barber is scruffy and his hair is shaggy and wild.

The young man continues on, reviewing the food offerings as he goes. At the other end of town is a second barber shop. This one has a sparkling clean floor. The barber is tidy, clean shaven, has neat, well kept hair, and is all around well groomed.

After getting a bite to eat, the young man returns to the first barber shop and gets a haircut and a shave.

Why did he make this decision?

1. The sloppy barber cuts the hair of the neat barber and vice versa.

4. Yep. It is amazing how many people can't figure that out.
I've been using that as a test since I read it in a "puzzlers" book 40 years ago.
