Sorry, but it's old....still fuckin' great, though.

3. It is indeed a terrific song, though
I wish the local station would play some Morrison that isn't "Brown-Eyed Girl" or "Moondance."

6. I remember that song. Great song.
I love Van. I recently requested "Jackie Wilson Said" and "Caravan" on the radio (two separate days) and they both got played. Free Form BCN always plays your requests (if they have them).

8. One of those evocative songs that just sends me to tears.
It's always reminded me of San Francisco--maybe because we really do have foghorns here that sound like vuvuzelas on 'roids. Every time I bike across the GG bridge and hear them blasting, this song becomes my earworm for days.

When I lived in London in the 70s, I was determined to assimilate and be as Euro-sophisto as possible, denying every drop of my Yankee blood. I was never homesick, until one day the radio played "Into the Mystic". I thought of my misty city and just bawled my eyes out, wanting to be no place other than here.

Funny how I associate an Irish writer (redundancy, BTW) with my home. But that's what the best artists do, allow you to interpret their work with your own meanings and subjectivity.

10. Pink-o, I just love the oddness of it - a simple R&B in E flat,
but I think Morrison especially at that time was the best poet going and a much better musician than most. I enjoy the almost jazzy feel to elements of his music, and of course his voice.

There are a lot of his other older tunes available along the sides of that youtube page that lead you to yet more of Morrison's work.

I'm glad you enjoyed it.

I just knew I liked it and have not heard it for many years...I can still sing it, though, even though I had to refresh myself on the lyrics.

I can't always find my fucking car, but I can remember lyrics I havent heard in 30 years, especially if I sang them before...

I'll be a lot of laughs in the Old Geezers Home-maybe we can start a band...
