My dog's ear got torn
It's about a 3/4 inch tear at the tip of her ear.

This happened last week, but I didn't know it was actually torn until today because it was crusty and bloody.

It's already mostly healed, but if I take it to the vet can they stitch it up?

I'm worried that if it's not stitched then it will tear some more. :(

1. It is probably too late to stitch it...

I am not sure if skin prep for humans will work on animals but you could try it, maybe.

2. I wouldn't worry about it
wash it good and maybe tape it if there really is a fresh ripped spot, but mostly stuff like that heals up fine and becomes "character"

the thing to watch for is a big hematoma that can happen at the ends of floppy ears - and even they aren't that serious.

4. Pip already has "character" on that ear
She's now got some "character" from Bee and some "character" from Matanuska. :P

8. Our lab's ear took forever to heal. The vet said to use
liquid band aid on it and that helped. She's so active and she shakes her head a lot so the wound would reopen. But with the liquid band aid, it had time to heal.

Hope she's better soon!
