Interesting bit on tonight's episode of Make it or Break it (re: health care)
The show is about the lives of four elite female gymnasts. One of the girls, Emily, is from a working class single parent family. Her brother is in a wheelchair and her mother is well-meaning, but kind of flighty and irresponsible.

Well anyway, the electricity got shut off in their apartment, and the mother's junk health insurance did not cover her son's epilepsy (?) medication. Well sure enough the boy had a seizure and Emily ran to the pharmacy to get him medication, only to find out that it is not covered and will cost $220. After a futile argument with the pharmacist, she simply ran off with the pill bottle without paying. The episode ends with Emily being arrested.
