Poll question: With Liam Neson now out as Lincoln in Spielberg's Biopic, who should replace him?
It would need to be a middle-aged, white male, tall, preferably someone who already has that gravitas to carry that enormous role.

Bruce Greenwood

Tom Hanks

Daniel Day Lewis

Ralph Fiennes

I mean he's in every other movie being released in 2010 so why not have him take a turn at Abe Lincoln

7. that's actually a pretty good idea
The only problem would be if he could deliver the Gettysburg Address or "With malice towards none..." in a way that didn't make you think it was Jeff Goldblum.

living in a log cabin, splitting rails, running around in frock coats and stovepipe hats.

11. what the hell is THAT? LOL!
Knowing how it usually works, I could see Day Lewis and Hanks turning it down and Nicolas Cage becomes their desperation 4th or 5th choice and ends up doing it.

19. Oldman has already played Lee Harvey Oswald in JFK
so, yes, Booth would be the perfect gig. Tom Hanks is a 3rd cousin (IIRC) to Lincoln's mother, Nancy Hanks, so that would be cool.

23. Edward Norton.
Lincoln had a high pitched voice and loved to tell stories, either to make a joke or a profound point. I voted Daniel Day Lewis for the poll, but I bet Norton would make a better portrayal of Lincoln as a real person. He wasn't a stone figure with the perpetually serious face we see in monuments.

26. It should be someone with exquisite timing.
Lincoln was America's clown prince, always joking. The pictures we see of him are always somber and grave; in life, he was said to be very animated and very, very funny. He was tall, thin and very strong. His voice is usually portrayed as gravelly and deep; in truth, Lincoln had a high, reedy voice. I don't know who should play him, but Leonardo DiCaprio is a gimme as Grant.

As long as there's CGI space battles, the Lincoln biopic will be a success.
