A sad update...my friend Chuck passed about an hour ago...

Below is the link to the original thread from a few days back to give some background on the situation. The steroid therapy was the last hope, and that wasn't working, so they decided it was best to take him off the ventilator as opposed to just lingering towards the eventual. Robert said it was very peaceful and that it didn't take long before he was set free. While he was unconscious, I do hope Chuck was aware that Robert and others who loved him were by his side at the end. Chuck was only 48...far, far too young.

who were close to him, joey. I'm so glad they decided to go ahead with their plans instead of putting them off, regardless of the outcome he was with the man he loved doing what they enjoyed doing.

And your words "set free" are very poignant. It's good in this situation to think of it that way, don't you think?
