Where I'm staying for a week...
Here's my Mom's place in Northern WI, where I'm staying with her.

This is the lake, actually it's several lakes connected together into a flowage.
My Mom's and Dad's boat is closest to me, the yellow boat belongs to a friend of my parents.
The pier in between is where I caught 9 nice eating fish on Friday.

And this is the view from the back door of the house, down the hill to "da lake." :-)

3. I can almost smell the fir trees-
(I think those are mostly fir, but that wonderful woods by-the-lake smell, anyway)

I miss visiting my old friend whose parents had a log cabin beside a lake in Maine. When we were in high school it was a base for many wonderful hiking trips.
My friend loved the place so much she built a house on a little knoll above the lake.

4. Is it near Eagle River?
I have friends who live there part of the year. I visited them about 6 years ago, in the dead of winter! That is a beautiful area.

8. Yeah, and not too far up north...
A few mosquitos, but no chiggers or ticks.
