Bad enough that my stupid shithead of a cat loves to vomit on the carpet
But it appears that he runs backward at top speed while doing it; what else could explain the amazing coverage and spray-pattern that he achieves?

Also he's nearing eight years old, and the floor in our house is about 2/3 carpet and 1/3 tile. He's puked, on average, twice every three weeks since we got him. In all that time, you know how many times he's managed to hit the tile?

Three. Plus once on the window sill.

The other 250+ times have been on the carpet, rounding out to around 98.45% of the time.

2. Hmmm...
Mrs. Orrex is giving her husband his daily briefing. She concludes by saying: "Yesterday, 3 Brazilian cats barfed on the carpet."

"OH NO!" Orrex exclaims. "That's terrible!"

His family sits stunned at this display of emotion, nervously watching as Orrex sits, head in hands.

Finally, Orrex looks up and asks, "How many is a brazillion?"

3. Pretty good odds
Whaddrya complaining about? Kitteh gave you the gift of THREE barfs on the tile.

You're not alone--we have a total of ONE (1) area rug, 8' x 6', in our entire 2100 sq. ft. house. Everything else is hardwood, with a little bit of tile in the upstairs bathroom. GUESS where the neurotic pisspot kitteh poops when she's having an especially powerful freakout?

...but of course.

Now riddle me this--a few days ago I went to get an envelope to mail a car payment. The box of envelopes was on a bookcase in Mr. MG's office--on a shelf about 4 ft. from the floor. The bookcase is chock full of stuff (like, each shelf is two deep with CDs etc.), to the outer edge of each shelf, leaving no room for kittehs to walk. I have never seen either of our felines on that bookcase. And yet several of the envelopes were spritzed with Eau de Catpiss. I would like an explanation of how it got there. Distance peeing? Telekinesis? It remains one of life's mysteries.

4. Try changing his food.
Give him hairball formula on a regular basis.

Feed him less at any one time.

Cats puke, but for many different reasons.

See:http://www.ehow.com/facts_5178950_do-cats-vomit-much_.html

I'm sure he's not to happy about it, either. I'm sure he'd rather not be puking all the time.

7. I have a puker, too. Changed his dry food to Purina Sensitive Systems and
Edited on Mon Aug-23-10 10:09 AM by mnhtnbb
cut the puking way down--really way down. Also, I leave very little dry food in his dish any more. His puking is now infrequent.

He does the same thing, though. Prefers to puke on carpet instead of wood or laminate floor.

10. I'm thinking
that cats would rather puke on a carpet than a hard surface because it's easier for them to hold on to. Think about it. When you're sick do you hold the side of the toilet, or do you go hands free?

14. I agree with posts 7 and 10 very much.
I have six cats. They don't get much dry food. I think a bit more lubrication in your cat's diet (specially made stuff...oils, probably ) will help grease the system a bit. My cats puke to get rid of hair balls...which do slide through (in the other direction!) a lot easier with a "greasier" diet...and once in a while one will puke if he's really pigged out quickly on dry food.
They really don't enjoy puking, honest, and the carpet traction thing makes sense.
One of my beloved kitties puked on my unprotected cable box before I could grab her. I knew before the sparks and the smoke erupted that the box was fried.
Carpet puking? Eh. That's small potatoes.

16. Mine always waits until I just finish shampooing the carpets
she must not like the look of clean light gray carpeting, it must be more appealing to have brown hairball/barf stains all over it.

Mine is an old cat, and she has consistently barfed for the past 2-3 years. I have one of those little green machines, and its even wearing out. I am getting linoleum all over this house when we replace our flooring, if we are gonna have cats, the carpet needs to go.
