I went to my Mother's nursing home for the last time, to pick up her things and to thank everyone.
Don't know what I will do with the stuff yet, left the tv for someone else.

My major caretaker days are over, my Father's baby sister looks after him at his nursing home.

It has been 5 years looking after my Mother and her personal affairs, some hard years.

The stress is leaving now.

For those of you who are still caretakers take care of yourself.

It does get better, just try to hang in there.

For those of you who know a caretaker help them if you can, any little thing helps.

This is the first Saturday at home, usually I went to the home to vist.

I am still sorting out my feelings about my Mother, but I am glad I stayed till the end.

Just wish my brothers and sister would have come to the gathering at the farm.

They had issues with my Mother for years before I was born, their childhood wasn't so great.

One of my friend's took pictures so when they are ready, the pictures are there.

I am off to buy a tree for my yard for my Mother, a cedar tree of some kind.

See y'all tonight, I will be enjoying what feels like a early fall.

1. My dear texanwitch...
You have done a noble and thankless job...

Now you should rest, and take care of you.

Blessings on you for your caring heart all these years!

8. I am glad things are getting better.
I don't know how I would feel if my mother's care was left to me. I would do it, but I don't like my mother very much. I have a relationship with her that is a minimal as possible.

We have a caregivers' support group here. It is needed.

11. Thanks
for sharing your journey. Really, it's been enlightening. For those of us facing this issue in upcoming years, it helps to see someone deal with this with grace and compassion.

Thank you. Hugs and :)
