So we called the cops.
I went to get a few groceries today. When I came out to my car, there was a car parked next to me that had a cute little Westie dog inside. The dog was running around in the car, panting, barking and whining. There was a window open for it. It was not open far enough for the small dog to escape, but it was open. However, it is 84 degrees today and the car was in the sun. I know how hot my car was when I finally got inside it.

I went over to the car and looked all around it. There was no water in the car for the dog. It was making me angry.

A lady behind me noticed me looking over the car. She had been standing there even before I went to look at the dog in the car. She asked me if there was anyone in the car with the dog. I told her no. She said she was sick of "seeing shit like this."

We decided to call the cops. She used her phone. After waiting about five minutes, she left. I stayed. When the two young ladies came out, about fifteen minutes later, I told them that someone had called the cops on them. I told them that they should not have a pet if they did not know how to care for it. They told me they had been inside five minutes. I didn't argue. The cops were on their way, but I didn't need to get into it with anyone. (I don't know what I would have said if the dog owner had turned out to be a large man).

The cops came as they were pulling away. I directed the cops to their car. The cops already had a description and the license number.

My dog loves to go for rides too. But I just won't do that to her in this weather.

2. Adults here in the Florida heat are leaving their 2-3 year olds in cars
while they "run in the store for a minute." It's so sad and absolutely outrageous. Two children have died, one in a day-care van. Sickening.
