I thought "fish tacos" were bad enough when they came out. :wow:

The Dirty Sanchez can be found at "Torchy's Damn Good Tacos," an Austin chain. http://www.torchystacos.com/

"Dirty Sanchez: Scrambled eggs with guacamole, fried poblano chili, escabeche carrots, and shredded cheese served on a flour tortilla with our poblano ranch sauce."

3. I got a Dirty Sanchez and tried to get a Fried Avocado, but unfortunately
they gave me a Republican instead. Not only was the read "Republican" sticker on my taco horrifying enough, but of course as a vegetarian I couldn't eat the darned thing anyway. Ah, the irony. They should have at least given me a Democrat. I couldn't eat it, either, but I wouldn't be so traumatized.

5. I wanted one of those!
My sister lives in Austin. I saw that on the menu when we were picking up breakfast tacos when I visited in July. Never did make it back for lunch. On my list for next time! :9

12. A local favorite, the Garbage Plate from Nick Tahou's

A Garbage Plate is a combination of one selection of cheeseburger, hamburger, red hots, white hots, Italian sausage, chicken tender, fish (haddock), fried ham, grilled cheese, or eggs; and two sides of either home fries, French fries, baked beans, or macaroni salad. On top of that are the options of mustard and onions, ketchup, and Nick's proprietary hot sauce, a greasy sauce with spices and ground beef. It's served with rolls or Italian toast on the side,<3> fresh from the bakery next door.<2> Health.com named the Garbage Plate the fattiest food in the state of New York.<4>

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nick_Tahou_Hots

I haven't had the pleasure in all my 44 years, but I may get up the nerve to try it someday. I hear it's quite good.

13. Wowzers! When I worked for Dominos Pizza a long time ago
we used to make "Pit Pies" for ourselves. We just made a pizza out of all the stuff that fell into the bins when we were making them. You pick the pits regularly to pull out everything still usable, like large slices of veggies or whatever, but a lot of stuff got too mixed together to use, so it wound up on the pizza instead of in the trash.

That's what that dish looks like. In a good way. :) (Except that I wouldn't eat it because of the meat, but I can still appreciate genius when I see it.)
