Anonymous Beatles fan pays $14,740 for John Lennon's toilet at auction

John Lennon's Toilet Sells for $14,700

An anonymous Beatles fan shelled out $14,740 at auction to buy a porcelain toilet owned by John Lennon between 1969 and 1971. "I think it's the most unusual item we've ever had in our auction," the auctioneer said of the commode, which went for 10 times more than its pre-auction estimate. (Reuters)
