RIP 160g Ipod - you have served me well

It just died and it won't charge again. I'm going to see if the Apple people can revive it but I think the end is here. I've had this ipod for over 2 years and I actually bought it used.

Now I'm not sure if I want to get another 160 ipod or a 64g touch.

And yes, I had 100g on my old Ipod - in included some movies, bugs bunny cartoons and 2 seasons of True Blood on it.

1. It might just need a new battery.
You can get them relatively cheap on eBay and they typically include these little plastic tools for prying open the case without scratching the metal.

3. Go for the touch
So you rotate your playlists. But you get so much more if you have wi-fi.

4. try putting it on an Apple wall charger for a couple days straight
I was convinced my 1G Touch was a goner... but someone suggested an Apple wall charger (rather than the computer USB, or other charger), and either that did the trick, or the fact that it overheard I'd bought a replacement battery on eBay and was looking to upgrade to the new Touch. I wonder if they've become sentient.

5. I've never owned an IPOD. I guess I'm just old-fashioned, but I tote
around the hifi that I had in high school. I'm constantly amazed at the looks of envy I get on airplanes.

6. You can still use it in the car or clock radio
if you have the right adapters.

7. I love my iPod Touch, but my 80Gb Classic is still better in the car
No fumbling around with a touch screen while driving at 65mph, you can skip to the next song by feel, rather than unlocking the Touch and then navigating to the next song.

8. My iPod Photo is 5 1/2 years old.
And it's still working fine. So Apple ought to give me a free next generation iPad or iTouch...or better yet both.
