I love rock...
But, I've never been a fan of Springsteen's music.

So, what about it am I missing?

1. Nils!
at least I think Nils Lofgren is still paying guitar in the E street band.

:)

Other than that, if you're not a fan, you're not listening, so you're missing the mouth-full-of-rocks vocal mumbling.

3. The live show.
When I first heard him, I couldn't stand him. Then I'd hear a song here and there that I liked, then a few more songs. I still didn't get why he was such a big deal, and everyone said you have to see him live. So I did. I was probably the person least familiar with his material at the concert, but he blew me away--big time! About four hours worth. This was back around 1979-80 with the E-Street Band. Yes, he's still a terrific performer--I saw him just last year--but nothing will ever top that first show that I saw. I've seen a lot of concerts through the years and I've never seen another performer as good as Bruce.

4. Nothing.
Springsteen has two methods of singing.

Mumble yum yumble and the sound a water buffalo makes if kicked in the nads. :-)
