Vincent D'Onofrio returning as Det. Goren after Jeff Goldblum decided not to return because of too much uncertainty on the part of the producers regarding the futurer of the series. this is from an article in Variety in September, and there is little new information other than this that I have found.
I really miss the original L&O, and I will certainly miss CI...I haven't adjusted to the LA version yet, it lacks the grit of the old shows.
I really miss Epetha Merkereson - she is a GREAT actress.

1. Too many spin-offs may have drained the essentials for which the show was praised.
Yep...

2. Have you tried the L&O:UK one yet? The camera work left us a bit seasick and
it was funny hearing the classic L&O sound effect at scene changes. But beyond that it was cool. :)

I'll be happy to see Bobby again, but it would be weird without Eames.

7. I'm actually watching it on TV over BBC America. Not sure where you might find a good stream, but I
hope you can dig one up. :^)

3. I just found out there is a Law and Order Uk, set in London
Edited on Thu Oct-07-10 03:32 PM by lifesbeautifulmagic
which is now just starting It's third season. It is not available on disc in my area (yet), but I have it my netflix que for when it does become available. You can find some of it online (not very good quality), and from what I have managed to see, I really, really enjoy it. It is set up like the old school original L&O, and being British, it is very lower key (the violence is more implied rather than shown), the stories are intricate and of course, I enjoy the differences in law and process procedure between the US and the UK. I love the British older detective, the Jerry Orbach character. There is also alot of that street character, this time being London, rather than NY.

I am pretty happy that I have found a way to get my Law & Order fix, and original episodes at that. The Los Angeles series is just not clicking with me.

8. Got the 1st season at Target.......
rehash of old L&O(original) shows but with a British twist. Not bad but not great.

13. it is on BBC America ---
I just found it last night as a matter of fact. It is pretty different but I enjoyed it. I have been a pretty die-hard fan of L&O for years, so this is a treat for me and all us fans.

11. Good.
D'Onofrio should get to finish out the series. I never liked Goldblum as the lead detective.

I dearly miss the original series. After Lenny was gone though and they moved Jack to the DA's office the show didn't have any steam anymore. The writing really went downhill for about the last five seasons too. There were far too many "ripped from the headlines" story lines. It took away from what made L&O great: brilliant plots and thought provoking legal arguments.

14. I wonder if that is why the re-runs have disappeared....
in the last couple of weeks.

Anyway, though I like Jeff Goldblum, Bobby Goren is one of my favorite TV characters. He's not replaceable.

16. That is great news!
Really miss D'Onofrio. Hope Eames is returning too. Their last episode was too sad.
So many tv characters have imitated the Goren character but he's the best.
