2. Depends
on what chapter of bankruptcy you file, whether creditors fight it, if settlement negotiations happen, etc. I had a simple chapter 7 bkr.
Filed in Feb. 2009, was discharged (completed) by the end of May 2009.

4. Couple of months, for personal, it goes quickly
And if you repair your credit quickly, it isn't a stain after 5 years........

5. Word of warning, if you plan on declaring bankruptcy if it's at all possible pay off debts to your
local creditors before your do. Our oil bill got swept up into the mess when we did ours and we had to find a new company from out of town to get oil from after that.
