2. I missed those leetle ones in Africa and Europe
The Americas I aced. I even recalled a couple of island joints I'd never have guessed I'd remember. But I actually missed Liberia... after teaching a unit on it last month!

4. I did embarassingly bad but I wasted too much time on poor spelling
I only got 83.
I just couldn't seem to spell Portugaul, Belieze, Guatamala, Uruaguay, and some others despite trying to spell them each probably half a dozen times.
I guess that I have to work on that.

I had the countries drilled into my head in 8th grade. Autistic memory near-savantism helps!

10. OMG, do I suck at spelling, which really matters here.
Also, I kept coming up with countries that don't exist anymore, and forgetting new countries. I am humiliated that I only got 61, but if I could have figured out how to spell them, I had several others. Not 132 though, I am impressed, Bucky.

12. 88, but there were several I knew but could not spell
Edited on Fri Oct-08-10 10:25 PM by krispos42
Nicaragua, Ecuador, Colombia, Jamaica, Philippines, Papua New Guinea, Azerbaijan, Bosnia and Herzegovina (I thought Bosnia was separate), Guinea, New Guinea (I couldn't figure out how to spell 'Guinea'), and Bangladesh.

So I would have gotten 98.

Some of the ones I missed are just me being dense, like Austria, Portugal, the Philippines, and Mongolia. I tried to enter "Bosnia" but it didn't accept it--I forgot the "Herzegovina" part, I guess. The rest of the ones I missed were mostly Pacific Island nations, tiny Caribbean Island nations, a few in East Europe, some in Africa, and two (Bahrain and Omar) in the Middle East.

I got everyone in North America, though, except for "The Dominican Republic" because I was in the middle of typing it when time ran out, lol. I wish it wasn't timed. I probably could have gotten more if I'd have had more time, or if I'd have been taking the test orally (because my typing stinks).
