Eat ya lazy bastid's.. Anyone else worm composting?

We have been composting for almost a year. Since spring I've learned that worms don't like; orange peels, banana peels, avocado peels, advice, or orders.

Alley got the worms, a bin with removable trays, and a tap on the bottom. I got the privilege of feeding them our kitchen veggie and fruit scraps. They seem to really like watermelon sans rinds, papaya, and over ripe banana's, but they are dragging their "feet" on stuff like greens, carrot tops, lettuce, and cabbage hearts. They are supposed to eat that stuff too..

How do I motivate them?

1. They love coffee grounds.

We used to get them free from Starbucks (most have bags to give away near the counter) and dump pounds of them on top of the compost heap. We had more worms than we knew what to do with.

2. Hey, coffee will motivate them..

What's good for the worm-wrangler, should be good for the worm. They will get their first "cup" tomorrow.

The nice part of doing it is you don't have to do anything.

It just happens.
