Apparently, it's a 32DD.

I am a freak of nature! There goes being able to buy from anywhere except one store ever again.

...given the size of her boulders? OUCH!!!
I myself wear a 42DD and have a bit of trouble with mine, given the size of my cantaloupes. No, I'm not bragging; I had been wanting a reduction, but am afraid of the quacks who might give me a hack job instead of a (reverse) boob job.

She's a big girl and doesn't seem to have any trouble packing them around. When she was breastfeeding our daughter she went up to a "N" cup, she said they felt "a little heavy" then. :wow:

Actually Victoria Secret had my size in a variety of bras. A bit on the expensive side though. Now that I know my real size, I may go shopping at cheaper stores.

10. "Real" bra sizes are an issue!
Congrats on finding yours.

I know damn well my band size is 34. Has been since my puberty pretty much finished during Reagan's first term, my weight hasn't changed much since.

My biggest problem is cup size, because "Frodo" over on the left is an obvious C, while "Samwise" on the right is pushing D. No one is perfectly symmetrical, of course...but bras are!

22. If a bra is a pain in the ass it most certainly is not fitted correctly.
You might want to shorten those shoulder straps a bit, and you might consider skipping that underwire.

21. A recent observation:
Edited on Fri Oct-15-10 09:39 PM by YellowRubberDuckie
The way they measure bra sizes is wrong. If I wore what they told me I should, my boobs would be dragging on the floor. I took three, four bras and took them into the dressing room. They told me I wear a 44DD. I actually wear a 44C. It's a large C, but it's what keeps them up and together like a normal person's boobs.
And I see TOO many women walking around in bras, but their boobs hang to their waists. HELLO!? Bras should hold you up, not let you hang. Drives me crazy!
Sorry if this is TMI.
Duckie

25. Band size and cup size have nothing to do with each other.
Band size is how big your ribs are under your boobs.

The OP obviously has small ribs and big boobs.

I have the opposite problem. I have square shoulders and big ribs which I inherited from mom.
In high school I was a 36 A. When I went through puberty my hips never got bigger, but my ribs and shoulders expanded, and I kept ripping out underarm seams in my dresses.

Now that I've gained weight and nursed a baby, which made the boobs bigger, I am now a 42B. It is hard to find bras with big ribs and small cup sizes.

Most women wear bras that are too tight in the ribs and they wonder why they can't breathe.
Different brands fit differently too.

I wear sport bras most of the time and they are a lot more comfortable even though they are marked "XXL".

Get a tape measure and measure yourself under the boobs around the ribs, comfortably, so at least you'll know your band size before you go to the store. The best place to find a bra that is the right size is to go to a specialty lingerie store that carries a huge variety of sizes. There's one in Houston called Top Drawer Lingerie.

That's all the free advice from this older woman for the night. :D

45. I thought finding a 38B was hard
Now I feel luckier. I've got big ribs and big shoulders too. Any woman in my family who bought an outfit with shoulder pads (they aren't as common as they used to be) looked like she should be on a football field. I see so many nice tops with fitted sleeves that I just can't wear unless I get a size that fits my arms and hangs off my abdomen!

55. More free advice: Learn to sew.
I wear my Dear Hubby's old slacks due to my non-girlish shape -- no hips, no rear, and a big tummy.

I found a bunch of square necked house dresses (I live in mom's and grandma's former house).
They were home made. The only problem was that they were all too small in the shoulders. This I can't figure out since Mom had big shoulders and was several inches taller than me, and Grandma was taller than Mom!!

I got uncles over six feet tall on both sides, everybody in my family was pretty big except for me and my sister --I'm five foot three, she was five foot five and wore a size six.

Don't know how that happened.

Learn to sew. Clothes nowadays are very loose and thus a lot easier to make than fitted clothes.
I inherited three old all-steel electric Singers that will last till doomsday! They make great buttonholes (with or without an attachment for it) and zig zags. And there are lots of handy gadgets & materials that make sewing easier.

Only the band is different. A 34D would probably be the best alternative since it's closer to the correct band size.

37. I had a similar experience and I truly believe it is a scam.
I went from a 34C to a 32D when I was measured at a certain store (that I love but I do believe this is a scam). NOBODY sells that size except this particular store.

I call bs - I just to Victoria's Secret and continue to get my 34C's and I don't have to spend $65/bra.

I'm a 32C...but I'm 6'1" and shall we say "athletically" built?? Or try this: I was just in Greece and they mistook me for a Doric Column.

but actually, since I do run, bike and play guitar, being somewhat boob-less is also functional. We should be happy with what we got, I guess!

50. I went to the Hanes outlet store where the sales gals have
'training in fitting'. I didn't use that service, but tried on two of my usual 36 C- one was just right.
Can't women tell when their cups runneth over? Or the band around you slides up in back (like my bras do when they're getting old and losing elasticity)?
I've tried on bras which have cups too close together for me... don't want my boobs smooshed in and up to "achieve the cleave". (•)(•) ;)

It is so nice to have a truly comfortable bra once they get the size right. I was way off until I was "sized".

I have a small ribcage, but hefty boobs. I have only found bras at one place and they are costly!

As I recall they cost $54.00 each.

That's a lot of dough for under the shoulder boulder holders!

No pics, natch :P
